2 Years

2 years ago today I embarked on my journey as a blogger. A great deal of exciting and terrifying stuff has happened in those two years and a great deal more is yet to come but what I’ve found here has provided an almost unparalleled sense of belonging that is, and will remain, priceless to me.

I want to thank you all for the investment you have made in my blog. I know I’ve have been rather quiet as of a late but you all still lie at the heart of my motivation and for that I owe a debt of gratitude (Hence why I feel terribly guilty about my absence). Not only do you provide my motivation but you also challenge me to create content that I try and make engaging. I’ve had great fun exploring my commentary on comic books but also in discussing my other joy: Physics. Again, if not for your support I do feel that I wouldn’t feel half as comfortable discussing stuff like interplanetary travel if I didn’t have such enthusiastic support.

There are two people in particular I want to thank.

The first is Michael over at My Comic Relief. First things first, if you don’t already follow this titan of a blogger, please kindly correct this. I owe Michael an extra special helping of gratitude for all he has done these past 2 years. When a notification stating that Michael has commented on a post pops up I know I’m in for yet another scintillating conversation about just anything. He provides such wonderful comments ( and own content!) that allow me to discuss opinions I normally have to bottle up. Furthermore, he challenges me to consider things from a fresh perspective, deepening not only the discussions we have but my enjoyment of the numerous topics we have discussed. Words can not truly express the brilliance of Mr Miller but seriously, if you didn’t follow my suggestion, please go to his site and let it do the talking. I can whole-heartedly promise that what you’ll find is beyond phenomenal.

The second is for Izzy over at Thinking and Inking. Her contribution to this site stretches back to the simpler times of 2015, New Years Eve to be exact. She suggested I started blogging and the rest, as they say, is history. In that respect, I owe Izzy the biggest thank you simply because I wouldn’t be in the privileged position of being able to right a 2 year birthday post and justify eating cake (Not that I require much justification at the best of times…). I wouldn’t have an environment where I can just unload my mind about stuff that I struggle to find people to talk to about. I wouldn’t have “met” so many wonderful people from across the globe and for that I owe her an incomprehensibly enormous debt. As before, if you don’t follow Izzy’s blog then please correct this fatal error and get on over to Thinking and Inking immediately. Her content is absolutely fantastic, beyond what mere words can describe.

The near future is looming with a rather large amount of uncertainty. During those times I believe this site will go some of the way to providing a refuge from the madness. I’ve been absolutely pants as of late in posting. I can’t promise this will improve  much in the coming months but, if nothing else, I shall endeavour to post as much as I can. I can’t bear thinking about the last time I posted something Physics-related so that aspect of things is most definitely on the agenda.

Once again, Thank you all for the investment you have all made in my blog. I’m immensely grateful and can only look forward to the next 365 days with hopeful anticipation. A lot will have hopefully changed by then so strap in ladies and gentlemen, it’s going to be one heck of a ride.

  1. Wow – thank you! I’m honored by your words. Also, HAPPY BLOG BIRTHDAY! Thank you for two wonderful years of posts and I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store. No matter the posting schedule life offers, it’ll all still be lots of fun. Congrats on the anniversary!
